VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR DYSA FALL INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM

Planning for the 2010 Dartmouth Youth Soccer Association Fall Instructional Soccer Program is underway.  Annually, from late August to early November, DYSA holds its Fall Season in which from 1,000 to 1,400 youth soccer players from Dartmouth participate.  In order to provide this program, DYSA is looking for volunteers to assist in its planning and coordination.

DYSA is run by a volunteer Board of Directors which oversees the Fall, Spring, and Cranberry programs, along with the facility.  DYSA has always relied on Board Members to be heavily involved in our planning efforts.  We would like to expand DYSA volunteer involvement to include others that are interested in providing for our town youth.  You do not have to be a DYSA Board Member to volunteer to assist in the Fall Program.  However, volunteering is a great way to gain notice for Board nomination and selection if you have a desire to become a Board Member.

Volunteers should plan for involvement of about a few hours a week beginning in March and ending in November.  Some activities may require more time as the season draws near or is underway.  Volunteers will assist in coordinating the following activities:

  • Registration
  • Fund Raising
  • Age Group Coordination
  • Field Preparation
  • Concession Stand Planning and Assistance
  • Uniform Planning
  • Advertising
  • Coach Recruitment
  • Coach Training Oversite
  • Player Training Oversite
  • Gameday Assistance
  • Soccer Dinner/Dance Fundraiser Planning and Assistance
  • Referee Training and Oversite
  • Next Season Planning
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Leffel Kirkman at lekirkman@verizon.net.
