Program FAQ

Are there any residency restrictions?
No, this program is offered to anyone in the area.

What is the format of a session?
Sessions will run for 1 hour. The first 40 minutes of the session will include short games and activities that will be fun for the players while also introducing basic soccer skills. The remaining 20 minutes of the session will be a scrimmage between two teams.

What equipment is needed?
All players should have soccer cleats, shin guards, and a soccer ball. Players between 4 and 5 should use a size 3 ball and players between 6 and 7 should use a size 4 ball. A South Coast Micro Soccer shirt will be provided for players to wear during each session.

Can I coach?
We welcome parent involvement. During the registration process there will be an option to indicate if you're interested in coaching. Coaching assignments will be completed by the Program Director based on the number of volunteers and  qualifications. All coaches will be required to pass a CORI check.

What is the quality of the program?
The South Coast Micro Soccer program will work with licensed coaches to build a curriculum for the players that is in line with that of US Youth Soccer recommendations. Licensed coaches will be available to provide instructions and additional guidance to any non-licensed coach.
